Flat battery jump start
If the engine will not turn and the lights are dim, this is a jump-start call-out, day or night.
What we need to know
Petrol or diesel, whether the car is automatic, and whether it is boxed in. A jump start needs access to the battery or the remote posts under the bonnet. If the battery is buried and you do not know the posts, say so. Some cars should not be jump-started from another vehicle at all. We will ask before we connect anything.
This does not fix a flat tyre
If you also have a puncture, book mobile tyre repair and mention the battery in the same call. Doing both in one stop is possible when the place is safe and the stock is right. It is two jobs, priced as such, before we start.
After it starts
A jump start gets you moving. It does not promise the battery will hold a charge tomorrow. If the car dies again in a few minutes, the battery or the alternator is the next conversation, and we will say that rather than jump it twice and leave you stranded further away.
